Ninigi Tiger was born into a family in which her grandfather was a priest and her grandmother was a head priestess.

She grew up surrounded by Shinto and Buddhist influences and began drawing at a young age under the influence of her cousin, who later became an animator.

After graduating from the Fine Arts Faculty of Tama Art University and working as a freelance illustrator, Ninigi Tiger began her career as an artist in 2024.

Her current works are exploring the theme of “Life and Death”. The artist was inspired by Japanese animation and traditional Asian art, which she has been familiar with since childhood.

In Western paintings, skulls often appear as a motif representing Memento Mori. Memento mori is Latin for “remember mortality” or “don’t forget about death”. It is a warning that death will inevitably come to us and that’s why we should live our lives to the fullest in the present.

There is also a line in a Japanese Carpe diem poem, that reads 「今日の花を摘め」 “Kyō no hana o tsume” (Pick the flower of today).

「今を生きろ」 “Ima o ikiro” (Live in the moment)! 「1日を大切に生きろ」 “Ichinichi o taisetsu ni ikiro” (Make the most of each day)!

All of these quotes emphasize the importance of living life positively and without any regrets.
