“Expressing the invisible … for me that means painting the true side.”

The artist Joss Toledo was born in Málaga, Spain, and has lived in Zurich since 2005.
His art plays with aesthetics, with the simplicity of Euclidean geometry, with flat colors and continuous lines.

But it is also symbolic and intentional: the will to tell the story behind the curtain.
At first glance, his paintings reveal a canonical and regulated reality, but a closer look reveals details, signs, clues and traces that point to multiple hidden meanings.
