Born in 1974 in Leipzig, GDR – I spent my childhood and early youth in a socialist education system with extensive and cost-neutral leisure and support programs on the one hand and a totalitarian culture war and personal restrictions on the other.
My creativity was encouraged in various art schools and courses and my intentions were shaped by a peaceful revolution.
I studied architecture, art history and art in Leipzig and moved to Zurich in 2004 for postgraduate masters at the ETH and ZHdK.
Since 2008 I have been working independently as an architect, designer and artist.
In my work I deal with the enigma of individual consciousness and its ongoing self-construction based on the interpretation of its environment.
The “I” unfolds in life and is interrelated with our environment. Our personal movie tells of the comparison of our memories and our external and internal sensations, which are only accessible to ourselves. I would like to fascinate and invite you with a wink to celebrate the absurd “I in you” in spaces and images.
