Ela Pour combines classical figuration with modern abstraction in her paintings. Her works, often created in oil and watercolor, merge human and non-human forms, blurring the boundaries between reality and representation.
Born in Teheran in 1975, she grew up in Liverpool, Persia, and Berlin. She earned her diploma in stage design from the Weißensee Academy of Art. Her works are influenced by her interest in the imperfections of the human body and the formative experiences of her childhood.
